Welcome

Mandy and Steve Hillyar welcome you to our family owned centre. We are committed to providing a nurturing early childhood education and care environment for your child or children.

We operate a long daycare centre and preschool for families located in and around the Moruya region, offering spaces for children aged from six weeks to six years old. We are open five days a week, 52 weeks a year from 7am-6pm (excluding public holidays).

If you would like to see your child thrive, develop, socialise and explore in a small 39-place environment, please come and have a look around. Meet our amazing educators and chat to us about your needs. We are all about building relationships with you, your child and family, and the local Moruya community.

PLEASE SEE BELOW FOR FURTHER INFORMATION.

Preschool Room

Our preschool educators are a team of experienced professionals, including university trained teachers, dedicated to ensuring all children reach their potential in a warm and nurturing educational setting. The program is guided by the Early Years Learning Framework (EYLF) and is based on the individual needs and interests of the children.

The preschool children explore a range of planned and spontaneous activities. Their room is equipped with the latest technology including a smartboard and iPads, and is balanced with more traditional learning areas like a block corner, home corner, puzzles, musical instruments and a library corner. The educators are very passionate about school readiness and there is a school transition program, which incorporates visits to the local primary schools throughout the year. The preschool program is focused on literacy and numeracy outcomes, as well as the very important social and emotional skills required for a smooth transition to school.

Moruya Early Learning Centre works in partnership with the University of Wollongong’s Early Start Program. We are one of 41 Engagement Centres in regional, rural and remote communities aiming to deliver better outcomes for children. It is an initiative that combines research, teaching and community engagement in the earliest years of life. As a result, our educators have access to the latest professional training, and our children have access to the latest technology and resources, to improve teaching and learning outcomes for everyone in our centre.

What is included at Moruya Early Learning Centre?

We have two cooks who prepare breakfast, morning tea, hot lunches, afternoon tea and late afternoon tea. These meals are delicious and follow the nutritional guidelines for NSW. We also provide nappies, drink bottles and hats. All you need to bring is a change of clothing and your child’s bedding if they go to sleep.

Thank you from Moruya Early Learning Centre.
